Pebble Beach Systems celebrates 10 years of automation success

Weybridge, UK...Pebble Beach Systems launched its 10th anniversary celebrations at NAB today with the US premiere of its powerful Marina enterprise level automation system, the announcement of a key contract with Globosat in Brazil, and an anniversary dinner to honour key players in its success to date.

Pebble Beach Systems is one of the few independent players in the broadcast automation and content management space, and has grown organically since the three founders formed the company back in 2000. Managing Director Peter Hajittofi has a long history in broadcast automation, having previously worked for Louth as European Managing Director, and before then at Logica, who pioneered one of the very first broadcast automation systems. Together with experienced industry professionals Ian Cockett and Julian Hepworth, he has built Pebble Beach Systems into a highly successful enterprise which offers a level of focus which many of the larger manufacturers in this closely contested and highly specialized field simply cannot match. Thanks to its strong reputation for exceptional customer service and delivering on its promises, the company now boasts over 100 installations in over 40 countries.

'We've seen the broadcast landscape change radically since we first started back in 2000' explains Peter Hajittofi, 'but despite difficult market conditions and increased competition, Pebble Beach Systems has established a strong position as a world-class automation provider. In 2009 alone we launched a major new automation product, won several large high profile contracts, opened new offices in the US and Asia Pacific markets, and increased our staff numbers by 30%.'

As an independent company, Pebble Beach Systems is genuinely agnostic with respect to third party devices, supporting the widest possible range of products, and offering the optimum solution for broadcasters of all sizes and needs. Its main focus is to provide the customer with an over-arching control layer, where a single system can manage a whole range of functions from ingest, to browse and edit, archiving, content delivery and playout. The same system can be used for news and sports, as well as classic entertainment channels. 'We manage file based workflows and integrate with many partnering technologies, constantly enhancing our products to ensure compatibility. Pebble Beach Systems has an ambitious development roadmap and we plan to build on our market-leading status by expanding our services as the industry moves forward,' confirms Peter Hajittofi.

'As a friendly, vibrant company with a strongly international flavour, we have a broad understanding of different cultures and can be agile in responding to changing market conditions and requirements. I'm immensely proud to say that Pebble Beach Systems has established a great reputation over its 10 year history for solving broadcaster's problems and building solid relationships with our ever-growing international client base.'
