ABS to Expand Pebble Beach Systems' Presence in U.S.Systems integration firm Advanced Broadcast Solutions (ABS) announced it has entered a relationship with Pebble Beach Systems, a U.K.-based developer and supplier of automation and media management solutions. Marina Broadens Automation OfferingPundits may be labeling 2009 the year of recession, but UK-based broadcast automation specialist Pebble Beach Systems is happy to be bucking the trend. Managing director Peter Hajittofi said: "It's true that the broadcast landscape is changing, but despite difficult market conditions in 2009, Pebble Beach Systems was able to consolidate its position as a world-class autoamtion provider with the launch of a major new product, several large high profile contracts, the opening of new offices in the US and Asia Pacific markets, and a 30% increase in staff numbers. A Four Year File TransferSince being designated the authority to classify any video recording offered for commercial sale or hire by the British Government in the 1984, the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has accumulated an archive of nearly 200,000 video tapes.
