Adding to our existing range of products, Pebble Beach Systems' enterprise level automation product Marina, is a new generation automation system that simplifies the task of managing large-scale broadcast operations. The operating interface has been specifically designed to allow users to manage a very high density of channels from a single workstation, if required, in their own language. Marina also offers enhanced management of user rights allowing large systems to be partitioned into defined operational zones as well as providing an audit trail of all system activity. The way in which Marina manages graphics and other secondary events has been significantly enhanced to meet the challenges of complex on air presentation.
Marina's architecture allows Playlists to access devices across the entire network allowing customers to make maximum use of their investment in the underlying technology as well as allowing channels and devices to be scaled independently without any interruption to on air services.
Security of playout in on-air operations is essential Marina provides a host of redundancy options that can be deployed according to the requirements of specific channels - ranging from fully mirrored services to N+1 protection for both primary and secondary devices with automatic failure detection and failover.
Marina has been designed to allow existing users of Neptune a migration path should they wish to take it. Database, hardware and network compatibility demonstrate the desire of Pebble Beach Systems to allow our customers to move forward with us as their requirements grow. Compatibility with Anchor Media Manager is also assured together with full API support for specialist archive solutions such as Front Porch Digital's DIVA solution. Driven by a single system wide full SQL database, content can be moved intelligently from ingest to playout storage systems according to the priorities of all the channels in a single action. Content can be previewed, segmented and if necessary edited using a low-resolution workflow that wraps around the system, allowing content to be managed efficiently for compliancy, promo production and re-versioning.
