Principal Software Developer - Pebble Control

We are expanding our R&D department with a new Principal Developer role in our established Pebble Control development team.



The Role

This role/team is focussed on the provision and delivery of detailed advanced next generation Broadcast control solutions to support our customers in the transition from traditional Broadcast Control workflows into IP and Cloud technology solutions.

Responsibilities

The role holder will:

• Work with the Technical Lead / Architect to provide in-depth, modern technology, efficient and maintainable frameworks, and implementations.
• Develop a broad range experience in both Front-end and Back-end solutions development using Microsoft C#, Blazor and other technologies.
• Create/develop experience of broadcast customer product interaction/workflows and develop skills to advocate best practice for creation of efficient User Interface / User Experience designs.
• Develop/create their knowledge of Broadcast solutions using IP based control technologies.
• Advocate and promote best practices in the development of software, including use of modern language techniques, technologies, and toolsets.

• Act as a champion for the full SDLC process, promoting the use of requirements capture, reviews, and testing from unit level to acceptance.
• Investigate and develop more challenging solutions in a hands-on role, whilst bringing their skills to find the solution and, report and fix defects.
• Analyse and contribute to designs to provide comprehensive test environments for use within the team.
• Promote and develop their own knowledge, ideas, and skillsets to meet the requirements of the business.
• Identify and promote efficiencies in working practices.
• Coach and mentor team members, in best practice.
• Work both independently and as a team member, and across the wider R&D department as required.
• Be able to deputise for the Technical Lead / Architect as and when required.
• On occasion assist the Technical Lead & Engineering Manager to support team development.

Skills and Attributes

We are seeking:
• 5+ years of advanced career level experience of developing user facing control software applications for technological/equipment-based environments, backed up with several years as a Senior developer.
• Understanding/experience of IP based Control systems ideally in the Broadcast workflow and/or have skills, working experience and knowledge in the development of new IP networking technology control protocols.
• Customer exposure/experience and development of front-end UI/UX for efficient smooth simplified user experiences.
• Demonstrable & Comprehensive knowledge of object-oriented development in C# & .Net utilising modern techniques and recent releases.
• Experience of user interface design using Blazor, or similar frameworks.
• A solid working knowledge of source version control systems, preferably Git.
• An everyday working knowledge of bug/issue tracking systems e.g., JIRA.
• An understanding of the infrastructure required to build and deploy software.
• Experience of software deployment in public cloud solutions.
• Development experience using Microsoft Visual Studio / Visual Studio Code IDE.
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrable experience of communication and management skills needed to deliver outcomes on time.
• Be driven to learn and expand their knowledge, whilst supporting and mentoring others.
• Be fluent in English with excellent written and oral skills.
• A degree, or sufficient equivalent industrial experience in the field of computing, engineering, or science.

Marketing and Communications Manager

To support our expansion, we are looking for a Marketing and Communications Manager to join our Sales and Marketing team.



The Role

Ideally, you will have a broadcast media background and will be used to rolling up your sleeves to create innovative and creative outcomes.
Using your experience and proven track record in marketing, you will be the champion and guardian of great content, able to design and implement engaging campaigns which help us to meet our objectives, elevate our communications and build on our well-established brand.
Reporting into our Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), you will join a friendly and supportive Pebble team who are passionate about the company mission and the values which guide our decision making and goal setting

Responsibilities

The role holder will:

• Work closely with the CCO to formulate and execute plans to achieve the company’s annual Marketing goals
• Manage the planning and delivery of all marketing communications in line with our quarterly operational objectives
• Develop a consistently engaging voice for the brand across all channels and types of content
• Generate content for, maintain and oversee the company website
• Manage and monitor our social media platforms, including generating and writing content, and occasional design work
• Manage our brand and ensure the observation of brand guidelines
• Seek out new opportunities whilst managing the marketing budget to make strategic decisions to advance the business
• Liaise with and manage suppliers including our PR agency and our designers
• Write and coordinate content for company newsletters, datasheets, case studies and more, ensuring that all content is reviewed and taken through the proper approval process
• Organise the production of promotional and product videos, including scripting where appropriate
• Organise and attend virtual and in-person trade shows and events both in the UK and overseas
• In order to help the efficiency and smooth running of the company, you will be required to help in other areas, carrying out other work and other duties as the workload requires.

Experience & Qualifications

• A degree in Marketing, English or similar qualification is preferred
• At least 5 years’ demonstrable experience within a similar marcomms role
• Broadcast market experience or knowledge strongly preferred
• Exceptional copywriting skills are a must
• Great command of digital marketing, creation, and content management
• A self-starter and communications all-rounder with experience of leading the development and delivery of marketing communications
• Media relations experience
• PowerPoint presentation skills are a must, image/video editing skills desirable

QA Software Developer In Test

Pebble is seeking a mid-level software developer in test to join our established Product Release department.



The Role
The role will focus on expansion of the existing test framework.

Responsibilities
The role holder will:
• Work with other Software Developers in Test and QA engineers during the development life cycle to catch potential issues early on during the development cycle.
• Communicate with other departments such as project management and engineering to coordinate scheduling for QA testing.
• Write Test Cases to cover the testing requirements of a piece of development.
• Create and maintain automated test cases and monitor tests outputs.
• Work together with the Product Release team to assess product problems and brainstorm solutions.

Experience and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
• Proficiency in JS / Typescript
• Docker, Kubernetes and Service Orientated architectures.
• Public Cloud deployment using Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure
• Industrial experience working with developers whilst creating automation test, environments, and frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodology and hands-on application test experience
• Able to identify deficiencies and extend the depth of test coverage and be able to anticipate problems in advance.
• Able to make recommendations for improving products, systems, and processes.
• Able to juggle multiple priorities and deliver successfully in a fast-paced environment.

Solutions Architect (SA)

Reporting to the Solutions Architecture Manager, this role is based within the cross-disciplinary Solutions Architecture Department, formed of pre-sales, proposals and project management skilled resources.



The Role
The purpose of the role is to ensure an integrated customer journey from initial enquiry to project delivery.
The Solution Architect will work closely with the Sales Team to help identify, qualify and create bid solutions centred around Pebble Beach Systems’ offerings to customers across the world.
Each Solution Architect team member is responsible for a portfolio of qualified opportunities which they will work on, together with the Regional Sales Managers (RSM), to develop and create a successful technical and commercial proposal. The Solution Architect is responsible for ensuring that plans, risks and commercial terms are identified and agreed with the business prior to contract.
The focus of the Solutions Architecture Department is to have continuity from bid into delivery so that customers have a common touchpoint between stages: ensuring that information from bid to project stage is maintained, relationships are established and nurtured and, ultimately, that projects are delivered in the most efficient way.
The Solution Architect will manage resources to deliver the project(s) and be responsible for reporting status and managing the finances to ensure that projects progress on time and on budget.
The Solution Architect will ensure that reports are produced in a timely manner to raise risks and issues, focus the Pebble organisation on milestones and deliverables and ensure alignment across all stakeholders.

Responsibilities

The role holder will:
• Support pre-sales activities
• Respond to incoming RFIs, RFPs and tender documents
• Using bid reviews, establish which enquiries to accept and decline
• Liaise with regional sales managers to tailor responses
• Generate and maintain collateral to support responses – with recourse to Marketing and Documentation functions as appropriate
• Maintain and operate demo kit
• Influence the product roadmaps and development effort
• Support RSMs with onsite and remote demos and PoCs
• Support Marketing with systems for trade shows.
• Attend trade shows – build and de-rig stand, and participate in demos and meetings
• Assign project engineer and brief Dev on work required, and raise tickets as appropriate
• Manage project timeline and liaise with customer re timings and deliverables
• Generate and agree Statement of Works with the customer
• Order any hardware and arrange for this to be configured to customer requirements
• Liaise with development team and oversee the development of customer specific software
• Oversee the delivery and installation and acceptance of the project
• Manage internal resources to resolve post-delivery issues
• Roll out the software – remotely or on-site by the Project Engineer
• Oversee handover to Support
• Maintain ongoing relationship with customers to maximise repeat business.

Experience and Qualifications
• Previous experience of working within a customer facing broadcast environment
• Previous experience of Bid and Project Management in a technology delivery discipline, experience using PRINCE2, APM is desirable
• Significant experience as a project manager, with at least 5-10 years experience of managing projects.
• Ability to build, manage and motivate teams in a project environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Communication and self-management skills to deliver competing priorities on time.
• Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communications skills.
• A degree, or equivalent, in the field of science, engineering or computing
• Flexibility to travel to meet project requirements (c.10-20% of time spent travelling)
